Free AI Stock Signal Backtest
Before you trust a signal, look at its record. Pick any US stock and replay the last 12 months of our AI signal on it: every BUY and SELL, the price each happened at, what the stock did next, why the signal fired that day and the headlines about the company in the days before. It sits next to what you would have made simply holding the stock, and the losing trades are shown with the rest.

How the backtest works
What does the strategy backtest show?
It replays the AI signal Stock Companion shows today over the last 12 months of one stock's daily closes. You see every BUY and SELL it would have given, the closing price of each, what the stock did afterwards, the signal's reasons that day (price trend, 10-day momentum and news sentiment) and the headlines about the company published in the four days before. The result is set against simply buying the stock on the first day and holding it.
How is the simulation run?
One trading day at a time, using only what was known at that day's close, so it cannot see the future. On a BUY the whole balance buys the stock at that close; on a SELL everything is sold at that close. It starts with $10,000 and charges no fees, taxes or slippage. Insider and options activity is left out, because the sources only report today's filings. A headline published after the 4 p.m. New York close counts toward the next trading day.
Does the backtest read the news?
Yes, by the live signal's own rule: at each close, the 10 newest headlines filed under the stock in the 3 days before it, scored by state-of-the-art AI models trained specifically on financial data, the models the live signal uses. We keep a year of that history for the stocks on our site and build it for any other stock someone backtests; until it is built, and before the date our news source reaches back to, signals are read from price alone, and every result says from when its news starts. Each trade lists the headlines its signal read, including general market stories filed under the stock, which are marked.
Is the backtest free?
Yes, for everyone, with or without an account. Open any stock page and choose the Strategy Backtest tab, or type a ticker on this page.
Does a good backtest mean the signal will make money?
No. A backtest is a simulation of the past, not a forecast. Because the signal waits for a trend before it buys and sells after a fall, it often trails simply holding a stock that rose steadily, and the results show that as it is. Past results do not predict future returns, and nothing here is investment advice.
The full method, and how every other number on the site is produced, is on the methodology page. Signals and backtests are informational only and are not a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
